how do you get rid of fleas in the house?

no pets in house now ive tried boric acid ,flea powder,flea bombs but fleas come back from hiding places any easy suggestions?

Vacume the carpets, paying particular attention to the baseboards and around furniture, if your vac as a hose attachment use it on the baseboards. Be sure and remove the dust bag from the vac when done, and dispose of it out of the house. You will have to do this every day for the next 14 days to allow the flea eggs to hatch.

If you can get a pet back, you can use one of the products that you apply between the animal's shoulder blades. The fleas would rather be on the animal than a human, and they will all eventually find the animal and be killed by the flea product. It will take some time, but it's actually easy and relatively safe to just let the flea product do its job. Anything else you use will affect the people, too.

A professional exterminator would be recommended in this instance. Fleas are a tough problem for a homeowner to solve. You also want to limit exposure of pesticides to your family.
Prior to any flea treatment always vacuum the carpeted areas thoroughly and throw away the vacuum cleaner bag. This will remove a good portion of the adult fleas and help hatch a lot of eggs in the carpet( making the treatment more effective ). After treatment it would also be recommended to vacuum often for several days to speed up the life cycle of the fleas, again making the treatment more effective. Eggs can stay hidden and alive in the cracks of floors and carpet for 6 months to a year.
Also wash any pet bedding or rugs that might be in areas frequented by pets

I have a lot of remedies.

Dawn Dish-washing Liquid- to kill fleas in carpeting pour 1 table spoon of Dawn into 16 oz spray bottle, fill rest of bottle with water and spray the carpets, upholstery and floors. the soap dries up the insects killing them almost instantly. after 15 min. wipe floors with damp cloth ( or mop) and vacuum the carpets.

Lysol- Spray the carpet and upholstery with Lysol disinfectant spray. the antiseptic kills fleas. repeat the following day to kill any newly hatched eggs.

Morton Salt- Sprinkle salt on carpets, let sit for at least three hours or longer, and vacuum thoroughly.

All these methods work, I have used them all at different times. I personally like the salt method best. I looked for remedies that would not harm children when my daughter was very young, and I continue to use them today. I hope this helps you.

I had this problem a couple of years ago. I used bombs 2 times a week for 4 weeks straight. It eventually did em in.

Make sure you are getting full coverage of ALL areas for the bombs. I used 4 bombs each time for 4 small rooms, I think I even did 5 bombs a couple of times.

tried vinegar doesnt work .ortho spray at lowes works, spray around the baseboards of the whole house even downstairs crack windows leave your house for 2 hours return vacum put bad in trash then repeat a week later if you still see a few.another thing is they are probably in your yard you can treat your yard also with yard spray.

If this is your home try a product called Home Defense. It is a liquid with no order and dries quickly. Effects last quite a while.

you may have mice or rats getting in some how and they also carry fleas....try flea spray that is used just for carpet they may be breeding in carpet or rugs....good luck
