familiarity breeds contempt. perhaps the phrase applies here. in the earliest days of comics(media as well) superman was an exciting stimulating character. his origins and many of the storylines explored with the character has raised him to a social archetype. he is in many regards the ultimate hero, a boyscout with an array of superhuman abilities. but is he boring, you ask. in this modern era of thousands of superheros of every personality type, unique powers, varied races, and cultural backgrounds, yes, a little dull by comparison. but let us not forget without superman there just might not be the multitude of superheroes and superheroines that we enjoy today. as for the most interesting i would have to go with the psychologically complex and inherently flawed "darker" characters such as batman, wolverine, or perhaps the moral thermometer like storylines of spiderman. either way you see it i believe the most enthralling characters are the most human, most fallible (like us) despite their superhuman powers and over the top adventures. superman has humanity, i know, but as such a superior specimen and innately inhuman origin it all seems too easy for him, he comes off a bit self righteous. like the highschool QB/stuco president, valedictorian he is too perfect to relate to. other characters are exciting and superhuman but have interior struggles which strike us "regular" humans more closely to the bone. i personally enjoy the nonsuperpowered heroes who save lives and combat evil with willpower, cunning and perserverance. before comics and superpowers literature contained many of these examples who i believe seeded the fertile ground of our imagination and paved the way for many, most even, of the "supers" who appear in every form of our modern media.

Yes Superman is boring!

Try these Heroes for a change:

The Spirit by Will Eisner.

Elementals by Bill Willingham.

Megaton Man by Don(not the director) Simpson.

Flaming Carrot by Bob Burden.

You'll have to check the back issue bins for the Elementals, Flaming Carrot, and Megaton Man but they're worth it!!

There are the Spirit Archives sold at Comic Book Shops, a bit pricey but definitely worth it!!

There are some new issues of the Flaming Carrot, but I haven't seen any for a while due to Bob Burden's hospitalization.

I agree with the Nexus recommendation, really worth it!

Also try to find Megalith, Armor & Silver Streak, the Revengers, Ms Msytic, Samuree, Zero Patrol - under the Continuity Comics banner.

Check out the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents Archives(put out by DC Comics), cool heroes created by Wally Wood.

SUPERMAN via miles and miles--Batman isn't even a superhero...He has no powers-basically a team of wealthy mans toys and weapons...Heck, maximum all and varied could properly be a badass with billions of greenbacks they could spend on weapons...Superman is my all-time sought after---properly, he's surely tied with Supergirl-character...assume you have been approximately to be forced to bounce off of a tall development because of the fact of fire-could you get on your cellular telephone to call Batman or Superman? Superman must be there in a chop up 2d even from around the country...Batman could get tied up in site visitors whether he lived interior the comparable city. the only ingredient i ever quite enjoyed approximately Batman exchange into the previous coach from the 60's--it wasn't undesirable yet no longer large the two . additionally, most of the flicks from the previous due 80's forward are extraordinarily good.

If you're looking for "interesting", look no further than Nexus by Mike Baron and Steve Rude.

Nexus dreams of mass murderers, feeling the pain the victims felt. Eventually, the dreams become worse until he wakes with physical injuries. He must use his powers to seek out the murderer and kill them in order to protect himself.

To help him deal with his situation, he studies religions. The oppressed peoples (and aliens) he frees by killing tyrants and murderers want to follow Nexus to his homeworld. Nexus doesn't want to be seen as a savior, but allows a number of people to live on his planet (Ylum, as in asylum). He befriends a great cast of colorful characters, and finds love with a spy sent to get information about him.

Mike Baron's writing is sharp and clear, and Steve Rude's art is some of the best you will find in comics today. For a long stretch, Paul Smith was a guest artist to help keep the book on a monthly schedule. Steve Rude has announced that Nexus should be returning for new stories in the very near future.

So, if you want "interesting", pick up the Nexus trades. And Dark Horse is reprinting the entire series from the beginning in glorious hardcover. Worth every penny.

Yeah, Spider-Man is more interesting than Superman, because he is vulnerable getting hurt and/or killed by a whole lot more than what hurts Superman. Plus he has villains who are simply stronger than he is, so the problem with Superman is all about how unkillable they have made him over the years.

Superman isn't boring, he just seems so high, mighty, godlike, and inhuman.

Batman is more interesting, but he gets a little angsty.

That's why I like Spiderman. The dude has a lot of problems, but he's always joking around and he's very down to earthish and relatable.

I think that Superman is cool, but he is can only be beaten by a Krptonite weapon, or just plain old kryptonite, and being outsmarted into a fight against something with kryptonite. He gets boring though, cause there really isn't a challenge for him. he still is cool but i think that Iceman is the coolest! HE can freeze stuff and sorta fly. Even though storm is a chick, she kicks ***!

Superman kind of boring, he's WAY too perfect! Personally, I prefer Marvel comic characters, because they're a lot more realistic. But, I also like Batman, because he has cooler villians.

Silve Surfer.

Sacrificed his life to become the hearld of Galactus to save his planet and people.

Roams the universe on his cosmic surf board in search for Planets for his master to devour, first only searched for planets without sentient beings, now he is forced to search for any type of planet.

Super strong, Class 100 strength, can call upon cosmic forces

Fights interesting opponents, Thanos, Mephisto, Champion of the Universe etc..

Was banished to Earth, because he wouldn't let Galactus devour it.

That's why I think he's cool

Superman is easily the most interesting as he is the only one who is actually born with his super powers, the rest are just ordinary people in lycra!
