Hoorah for you. Thanks for your support. I'm a retired USMC now working in the private sector and I too used to share your feelings.
I say used to because I was at a fallen comrades funeral in 1992 when some protestors started to demonstarte near the funeral procession. Well being the all-american gung-ho grunt I casually strolled over to them to ask them to at least consider the feelings of the family. The supposed group leader, a big guy about 6'-4" and a good 250lbs. game up and pushed me and told me to f***off. He had the right to protest anyewhere he wanted.
I agreed he had every right because I was out there defending the likes of him and his little group of a**holes to freedom of speech etc............. He than got the group to chant louder. I started to walk away when he called me a pu**y. I turned around and walked up to him. I smiled very politely and thanked him for reminding me about the freedoms I also had. I told him that God so loved him that he would like to show him how much he cared but that he was very busy today burying my friend. So God sent me instead. At this point he looked confused right to the point when I jammed my knuckles straight into his windpipe and took him directly to the ground. This hulking monster gasped for breath as he lay there under my foot which was now lodged against his chin.
A police officer came up and asked if their was a problem as he had witnessed the whole affair. I told him we were having a demonstration on the glorious freedoms our country has to offer. He smiled right at me and said it's great to see people remnding others of what we have in this great country.
So don't fret. What goes around comes around. Feel sorry for the selfless little pricks out there that we defend. The day will come when they will all repent.

While it is true that they have the right to protest under the freedom of speech, I think part of that freedom is for people to choose to ignore the protestors. Just because you have the right to express yourself doesn't mean you have the right to do it anywhere you want and make people listen to you. A funeral is a private gathering on private property, why should people be allowed to hang around and heckle the grieving? Freedom of speech only protects you from the government sanction of expression.

I don't know about throwing them in jail. But someone should definitely kick their asses. They're pigs. I don't agree with the war, but I support the troops and would never dream of doing anything the like. Kick Phelps' ***! And to the dude below me, it's not the left. It's a church who believes god is punishing America with terrorism and war because of homosexuality. They believe god is killing our soldiers because there are homosexuals in our country. Don't be a moron. Look at my source.

As far as I know there is only one group doing this and I have provided a news link below. I heard one of these people speak and she was not affiliated with any anti-war group but so full of hate I could not believe it. This is one very sick sect and to hear this woman is to witness Satan. I tried finding their site which was godhatesgays.com but didn't have any luck. What this has to do with soldiers beats me but these people are whacked! There may be other sects such as these but I didn't seartch any more because they are very sick indeed.

My father was a US Army lifer.
When he passed away during the funeral procession an African American citizen we passed stopped, took off his hat, and paused.
I have never forgotten that moment.
Citizens who fall in service to their respective country, no matter what you think, feel, or believe should always be given respect, honor, and dignity.
The gentleman who did these to my father has received my prayers many time over.
Regards

I totally agree, but, to make it worst the Great ACLU says they have the right to protest at the funeral and even at the church where the mass is being given. What's up with the ACLU I though they worked for us not against us.

I would consider that one of the ultimate hate crimes , which perhaps may carry a stiffer than average penalty or certainly should. Perhaps dropping them off alone with nothing but the clothes on their back into downtown Baghdad wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Military wife here, and I agree with you...I hate ppl that find the worst possible event to protest at...its like "whats happening in that brain of yours to think that this would be okay"????? I swear, some ppl just don't think about what they do before they do it...I think they should be arrested for disturbing the peace

I don't think they really need to be punished per say, rather they need to be greeted by those men in the little white suites and taken off to a nice little rubber room of a long time out!

I think that this is a completely detestable act by the left, there for the left is detestable. Detestable acts should be dealt with accordingly.
NO MORE LEFTIST MORONS
NO MORE CRIME IN AMERICA
NO MORE WELFARE STATES (LOUISIANA, SO-CAL)
NO MORE SOCIAL COMMUNISM
NO MORE HILARY (HITLARY) CLINTON OR TED (DRUNK) KENNEDY
I have found that PEPPERSPRAY works great for breaking up leftist protests, and cattle prod do a fine job on PITA & ACLU members!!!
PITA = people eating tasty animals!!!
