I live in Rhode Island. On my cell phone, it costs me 34 cents per minute to call my best friend in England. On my home phone we have no long distance and my family refuses to get any because my younger sister would abuse it. I have seen phone cards as low as 9 cents a minute, but only from landline to landline - calling her cell phone (which is my only option) costs 50 cents per minute with the phone card, as I found out the hard way.

Is there any way for me to call her cell phone for less than 34 cents per minute? Thanks a lot!

We do speak online, but it's not the same as having actual voice contact. She doesn't have the option for voice chat with a headset on the computer, so to hear each other's voices we need phones.

I do not have the ability to add long distance service to my house. I live with my mother and it is her phone and her phone bill.

Use One Suite They have great rates. Landline to landline, it's just 3 cents using the toll free access number or just 2.2 cents using a local number (if available in your area)

Calling to a mobile phone using the toll free number is just 1.9 cents a minute.

I used to talk to my boyfriend (now husband) for 3 hours at a time when I was there for just 2 cents a minute. His family has one suite to call their family who still lives in England and Australia.

If you don't want your sister to abuse it, you get the service for yourself and tell no one your code. It's pretty simple.

Get information about international phone cards, there has to be one that allows you to call a cell phone, there shouldn't be any difference, but since there is find a company that doesn't care, or get your own phone line installed with long distance, and if your sister uses it then you can charge her for those calls.

There are many services where you can talk to each other by the Internet, like Skype or even iChat, you might be able to do it for free. That would require both to have a computer.
