I'm going on holiday for a couple of weeks, leaving my laptop behind with a friend. He's not going to use it, so should I take the battery out? Are there any other precautions I should take, or will it be fine to leave it unused for 2 weeks? It is only 20 days old so I want to take care of it! :)

Thanks in advance,

Joe

lol, you could take the battery out, it would be better for it but only marginally.

Just make sure the laptop is well wraped in it's case and you'll avoid any "oops" moments from your friend.

Ahem, the laptop's clock is powered by the mother board's battery which is like a watch battery... (The Geek Squad, as in Future Shop? Oh Baahhhhh!!)

If you must leave it, charge the battery completely and store it in a cool dry place. But why would you whant to leave hourse of entertainment and possibly the best communication tool known to man at home?

Why in the world are you leaving it? Do you have a digital camera?
If you do, you might want to take it so you can download the pics you take on your vacation and share them with your friends back home.
That's why we buy the laptops, to take them with us and make the others jealous back at home when we share our pics, etc with them. LOLOL
