Yes, sperm can survive for 48 hours inside your body and can find an egg and fertilize it. I had a normal period the first month even though I was pregnant with my first child. That's why using proper birth control is soooo important. Please, please---make sure that you have proper protection against sexually transmitted diseases and unplanned pregnancy.
As for boys' attitudes about periods... There is no single answer. You have to ask/tell the boy and see what he says.

There is always a chance of getting pregnant. I know a girl who got pregnant while on her period because she was told that you couldn't. There is no solid evidence either way according to Sue from Talk Sex. Others say that no matter what you can get pregnant.
I've had sex on my period and my fiance doesn't mind. We've been together for 3 years and it never stopped us. Sometimes it can make your cramps worse later if it isn't gentle, but a shower after sex makes it very comforting.
If you guy is weirded out by it then you shouldn't do it. All people are different I suppose. Talk to your guy...! If you are young though, just wait to have sex. No need to rush.

Yes, it is possible to get pregnant. And it is all in ones personal choice if having sex while on your period bothers someone.. ask them it is the only way to get a truthful answer
