am i missing something. can it really hurt that bad?

I guess it is that bad. I didn't belive it myself but My BF got hit with a slapshot WEARING a cup and was in bed for 2 days and he is one tough dude.

It can indeed hurt "that bad". However, the vomiting is a direct response of intense stimulus to the vagus nerve, and that can happen for numerous reasons, not just being kicked in the genitalia.

Yes it can, you are stunned, paralyzed, it is real bad. A guy I know playing football did not wear his cup, he got hit "there" and was writhing in agony on the field for 10 minutes. Another had his skateboard pop him "there", same thing.
