I'm thinking of peircing my lip today. I haven't quite found the lip ring/stud I want yet, but I havent gone looking for one yet either. I found a needle I can use, and its big enough for a thick earring. I've got the willpower, and stamina to get the needle through, and I'm thinking of doing it at a friends house today. Does anyone know of any vital veins, or any precautions I have to take, other than cleaning everything.
Anyone pro- this idea, please give me tips on how to do this exactly.

I have 15 piercings and 4 tattoos, all professionally done. I've never had any problems with them, but the horror stories I have heard about home piercings lead me to believe that this is not a good idea. Like everyone else said, don't be a tight-wad, have a professional do it. Besides, it's not that expensive.

DO NOT...I REPEAT DO NOT DO THIS YOURSELF!

spend the 30 bucks and have a professional do it.

There are some optic nerves in your lip and you could loose all feeling in it. plus when you talk you might sound "slow".

You also run the chance of an infection if you do not use the right cleaning agents and procautions. so once again go see a professional

I'm con. Why complicate your life with the care of something that is going to be through your lip--get food in it, have to be cleaned out all the time, and maybe not feel to good to your boyfriend/girlfriend when you kiss, and which could get infected at any time. Yich.

If I were you I would go to a professional that knows all the pros and cons and then make an informed decision with their help. That way you are less likely to feel a lot of pain or have any complications.

Hey, you are trying to harm yourself believe me. This can be dangerous if you do it by yourself coz it may get on some invisible nerves while piercing which is very risky for life. You'll get all kinds of infections after piercing and may even have to go to a doctor.Get it done by professionals, they do it so easily within a second and also recommend you what you have to use for infections if you get one. Don't take it for granted. Life is precious.

If you dont use something sterile, (like putting the needle in boiling water or a fire) you could get a really bad infection. if you pierce through your lip your body might reject it and push it back out over time leaving a nasty scar.

if i would you i would save money and get it done by a professional. i had a friend do his own lip and it got so infected. he ended up spending more money trying to keep it clean and get his lip better. all my piercings were done by a professional and Ive never had any problems with 'em!

Pierce the lips together with at least 4 double piercings and maybe we can get you to shut your pie hole.

Self-mutilation may be "in" right now, but piercings will not help your looks as you age. You're going to get wrinkles and now your adding holes too? Think about it!

Please don't do this...you r already got me alittle sick reading the question. No, I dont know about any veins to look out for, but what if you hit one. You can get sick from and infection. Ask your parents if you can get it done professionally.
