You can have an abortion at any time. Third Trimester abortions can only be performed legally when the mothers life is at stake. If someone is in their third trimester they should consider adoption as opposed to abortion

it depends on the state you live in. some states you can walk into the abortion clinic and be in labor and still get the abortion. but just so you know how the abortion is performed that late in the pregnancy: the baby is formed. the dr takes a tool and inserts it into your uterus, punctures the sac around the baby and inserts the tool into the baby's head and scrambles its brain so that the baby is dead. then, the baby is either cut up and removed or they induce labor and you deliver and dead baby. gross, huh? kind of seems to me that if you make it to the third trimester...adoption is a much better answer.

Is it possible? Yes. An abortion is possible at any stage of the pregnancy.

Is it legal? Every state has different laws, but I doubt any state would legally permit an abortion at this stage.

Can you get one? Probably from someone out to make a fast buck but lacks the medical expertise to do it safely.

Will insurance cover it? Again, differs from state to state, but extremely unlikely.

My Suggestion? Carry the baby to term. If for whatever reason you do not want the child, give it up for adoption.

It's called a partial birth abortion. Few doctor's will do it without good reason, like risk to the mother if she delivers. Frankly, it is a very risky procedure in and of itself, if you are eight months gone, then you should just have it. If you don't want the child give it up for adoption.

All things are possible. But, one month prior to expected delivery is a bit much. I don't think there would be any US doctor willing to do that. The baby is more that viable - meaning, capable of living outside the womb. A better solution would be to deliver the baby and put it up for immediate adoption. That would be safest for everyone.

let me define abortion for u : its the terminatioj of pregnancy before the period of viability. which means 28weeks in a place like india, and 22 abroad.
so virtually abortion is conducted within 2nd trimester, beyond which its called feticide and is a criminal offence and is EXTREMELY RISKY.
i mean the chances for mother's death increases to 60%

OMG! I never would have thought this question would come about. This baby (yes baby already) CANNOT be aborted. This baby could survive right now if you had gone into labor. Start contacting adoption agencies and keep your options open. You do not have to keep this child, but do what's right by it and yourself.

No, you will not find a single person who is willing to do an abortion that late in pregnancy, by that stage its no longer considered an abortion, but is now considered murder. you would have to consider adoption at that stage.
