My tv has rca jacks, s-video, component, and hdmi connections and my laptop has a standard monitor port as well as usb, and an rj45 port.

Thier are adapters for VGA to HDMI. Most(some) laptops have a vieo out jack in the form of s-vido or RCA. Thier are also many different USB devices availible for that purpose.

Are you very very sure your laptop doesn't have an s-video out on it?

Practicially all laptops do. It looks quite similar to a PS2 mouse/keyboard female socket. A cable to connect this to either scart or directly to s-video input are quite cheap. I got mine for £20.

You buy one VGA to A/V convertor.....
which coverts VGA signal to Video Signal...

you can use the NIVIDIA Laptop display but i think you have to buy that
