We'd change very little since we've been preparing for the fall of the US empire for years now. We really ramped up our survival preparedness after Bush was installed in the White house. Good thing we did as we're watching many of our neighbors struggling under the neoCons "compassionate conservatism". When you're paying $3 for a gal gas, $2.50 for a loaf of bread and $3 a pound for hamburger the average paycheck doesn't go very far but you won't see me and mine in a soup line. We have our garden, our poultry, a knowledge of wild veggies and rifles for hunting. And we can get by just fine without public utilities. Good luck and God help those who remain dependent on the crumbling US infrastructure.

If I could pick my age at the time and could be around 20 and educated, I would enlist in the Army and get ready for the war.

Yes. I would garden, eat less junk, spend less. I already shop at thrift stores and discount grocery stores to make ends meet so I can relate to the times in essence. I would read more and probably learn how to sew (finally).

The great depression was in 1929 when I was born. We had it real good living on a dairy farm, we ate well. That's where I would want to be, if.
