Because they feel they need to have something to show for all there hard work. My husband is that way, and I myself am happy with what we have. He is always wanting something bigger and better, just so he can show that he works hard. And the man does work so, so some of that stuff he gets, he deserves.

This is just my own personal view on the subject...I guess people feel the need to surround themselves with "things"because they are lacking something spiritually within themselves and so they try to fill the gap.

Some people think that what they have defines who they are. Therefore, if I have more than you then I must be better than you. I believe it is because of their up-bringing, the media, & just basic human sefishness.

because people are capitalistic whores. they think that happiness comes with money and everything money can purchase.
