i've rerad the rules bob. there is an age limit of 13, but the rules also gives the parents an appendage to have a family account, that allows children of younger than 13 to have access to this site. i think they need to revise the rule. it gives the parents the responsibility of monitoring what their children are doing. we all know that most children have computers in their bedrooms and can very easily close a site when the parents come in. yahoo! claims to be cautious of young children, since this is what they say, then they should do away with the so-called family access to this site. i've been on the yahooligans site and this is much more suitable for preteens and teens of younger ages.

every one needs to read the community guidelines for the rules and exceptions. if i had a young teen and we were around people using some of the language used here i would tell my child to leave the room, same here, only its tougher for the parent to guide their child when on the computer and not around the offensiveness in person.

yes, i have been communing with a Y! staffer on the "forum" about some suggestions i had, one of which, was generating a "teen" category, this way the teens wouldn't be posting unrealted quesitons under pregnancy and parenting.

it was, then, brought to my attention that yahoo has something called Yahooligans for the yonger crowd. so, if enough people get talking about Yahooligans, that maybe this whole situation could be rectified.

i, too, feel that some people are using language that the younger crowd shouldn't be exposed to....

take care.

the united kingdom using age could be 21. anybody already with a licence decrease than that age could shop it yet while they commit any motoring offence, even with the undeniable fact that trivial, they could lose it till they attain 21 then could take the try returned. anybody failing the try thrice could be excluded from using. the thought anybody has the nounce to rigidity is misguided ... some human beings will never make a motive force, and passing the try after 20 tries won't exchange the reality. of path none of this could ever take place, so purchase shares in a mortuary and make a killing.

Even if they put an age limit of 45 years old, you'd still find 11 years old browsing the site. Its just up to the parents to block sites like this.

I think it would be nice to have a separate section for preteens and teens so they can ask each other "Do u like my avatar?" and "OMG, do u think so-and-so is hot?" all day and I can easily completely avoid these questions by hanging out in the adult section.

i agree. people need to keep in mind that alot of young children use this site. maybe there should be a special area for "mature questions". with some kind of restrictions???

I dont think there is an age limit at all.

I think there should be sections - one for children, one for teens, one for adults.

Nope. If a kid was smart enough to find his/her way to this site, then they have earned the right to see whatever is written or posted on this site.

It doesn't matter what the age limit is It's not like they do any thing if you're under age, but I don't know the age limit.

I agree that some of it is too sensitive for younger people, but there are a lot of immature "grown-ups" on here too.
