Some people are stoic and that's just who they are. Everyone has different levels of emotions. I'd say do what feels natural. If you're not a very emotional person, don't try to fake, unless you really need to. If you are emotional, find appropriate outlets for your feelings. In some situations, it is better to be unemotional, such as when studying intellectual topics and when driving. Sometimes, its better to display emotions, especially if you want freinds and sex. Gotta pick your spots. Refer to Chappelle's Show, When Keeping it Real Goes wrong.

Your question only appears simple, but brings up a number of other questions and issues involving consciousness and mind. Ultimately, only you can decide whether and how much how you feel matters. By definition, if you feel "not good" you're going to experience that as undesirable. Here's one possible other question suggested by yours: Should it matter to us how we feel? Well, who's feeling what? Do YOU feel what happens in your mind or environment? Or does your mind feel for you? If so, who's YOU? Does that mean mind is separate from YOU? Some scientists believe mind is just the result, the product of brain activity. While it's true that the brain's capabilities are more than we can fathom, it is hard to conceive, with present scientific knowledge, just how the brain could pull certain 'stunts'. Personally, I like to keep my definition of mind and self broad. Science needs to open up to truths that can only be discovered if they're suspected. Normally, scientists begin reasoning from something already known, by induction. But unless you imagine what you don't already know, you might never get to know it.

One should never bottle up their feelings. Feelings is like a drug that does not dissolve through your system...they build up and with a large build up can cause diseases to come into affect. Feelings are what makes things that you desire to manifest into the physical level of what you want. Feelings are what guides your actions to do some really wild and crazy things. Feelings can change you thoughts. I would say that "feelings" is pretty important stuff that some people surely miss out on by not being in touch with their feelings and then are afraid to tap into them when it is necessary. The feeling of being vulnerable and thinking that someone will only take advantage of those feelings is someone in deep fear of themselves and you would risk hurting someone else to avoid taping your innermost - SELF because this is the real stuff. I guess that's why people play alot of games in order to avoid the realness.

if you bottle up your emotions now you will suffer the consiquenses later, emotions stay with you forever until you decide to let them out. substance abuse is a big problem because the world rejects emotion more and more labelling it unprofessional and embarassing. What is life if you don't feel good, don't live for other people
i have been given heaps of this sort of advice but am still battling anger issues and have a huge narcotics addiction because i always bottled up my emotions and didn't want anybody to know anything about me. i saw it as a weakness

I would love to think that it doesn't matter, but actually I think it does matter otherwise I wouldn't cry when I'm sad and I wouldn't laugh when I'm happy. I am totally against stuffing feelings inside, I think everyone should let it out one way or the other. I personally cry when I'm alone about whatever that was bothering me..It's my way of releiving pain and sadness. So yeah, let it all out and be yourself there's nothing wrong with doing that...You got two eyes and tears to cry. !

depends on the situation i guess. If youre talking about personal matters ( a relationship, a friendship) then talk about it. But having converstions about your feelings on more business related stuff may not be a good idea. Save those feelings til you get home, and share them with friends. In general, yes, it matters how you feel!

Actually it does matter how you feel.. as long as you own your feelings, and don't make others responsible. Your feelings are what your MIND allows you to experience of what is actually going on within your MIND. Usually feelings are the tip of an iceberg of emotional energy that your MIND does not want you to experience... so this is "vented" in feelings. Feelings are, if acknowledged, an excellent way to move deeper into them, and hopefully discover the emotional energy behind them. Then grief is what you experience... and grief is the eraser of pain and misperception.

It matters how you feel, but not as much as it matters on how you act on those feelings. And, me personally, would rather let it out and be myself.

it is not good to leave your feelings bottled up inside because eventually you'll explode, you should let them out once in a while.
