I was bored and I decided to write my first name on the back of a fifty, on the front I wrote: " TURN OVER!!!!" Can I still use that fifty or am I down fifty dollars!!!!????

You can still use it. It is still legal tender

You can still use it, although writing on money it tecnically a crime. It is called defacing united states currency. The money is still money and is able to be used. Yoyu can even used ripped money, ans long as both sides match in serial number. You can also use a bill that is up to 50% in tact although some places wont take a ripped bill unless it's about 75% there.

You can still use the money, but technically it is against the law to write on money, it's considered defacing legal tender. But it doesn't devalue the money any, espcially if it's not the utter destruction of money. It also depends on how big the writing was you put on it. If it was black magic marker or something like that, the money isn't devalued, but people are likely to get a bit hinky if you give them that particular 50 in payment for something.

Its technically illegal, but noone really cares. There are the George Washington Bills where you can track where the dollar has been, and I've spent those without any hassle. I also spent a dollar bill that said '$6.50' once.

I did it before when I was younger and didn't know better. They still took the $. Today now that I'm older and know better I wouldn't do it. I heared you can get in trouble for doing that.....I wrote on it in pencil by the way

I've had so many bills with writing on them, holes in them, etc...

many 1 dollar bills have "www.wheresgeorge.com" written on them

check out the site.

just don't go writing on money in front of the fbi or anything...but i don't think that's their biggest worry.

hmm i have a $5 note with someones order for taco bell (and i live in england...) hehe. i guess they wrote on it so they wouldnt spend it on something else :P

yes you can still use it...money can be pretty wore down and still spendable..basically if the serial numbers on both ends are matching and intact..it's okay
