Standard outlets located in rooms other than the kitchen, are usually 110-120volts, and are on a 15 amp circuit. The kitchen usually has 2 circuits and they are on a 20 amp circuit. (to handle all of our gadgets with out blowing the breaker) In some houses, all of the plugs are on 20 amp circuits. (these are usually found in higher cost houses that are custom built)

I hope that clears up your query.

115 to 122 volts. Current/amperage usually 15A. Can be increased up to 30A by changing circuit breaker or fuse. (Provided the wiring is of sufficient gauge to handle it.)
