Irresponsible doesn't describe America. You only think you are responsible for all thats wrong but the reality is, while your hearts are in the right places, your brains seem to be on standby. You've built a great Nation but are allowing a few nutcases to decide what is right and what is wrong. It is great that you honor your war dead but then you honor the misguided leaders that sent them there, Vietnam , Afganistan, Iraq. Might does not always mean right. To ignore the future in search of oil or profits today, doesn't bode well for a brighter future and that is what America should be about. Remember the words, give us your tired, your poor, your hungry. Bigger fences don't make for good neighbours. Use your intellect for a greater good, develop an alternative to fossil fuels, clean up the environment, educate your children in safe schools. Instead of spending billions and billions on bombs, pay down the national debt so future generations have a level playing field. The U.S. is a great country, somewhat mis-guided it seems, full of great minds and innovators. Why is a bigger gun more important than a cheaper source of renewable energy? Get yourself a leader with a brain, instead of family connections. Make accepting money from lobbyists a crime of treason, after all, it is America they are screwing. Hold your leaders accountable. And abide by your Constitution and seperate church and state. Picking and choosing parts of a Bible just to suit your needs
doesn't make you a christain, just a hypocrite.

You have brought out a very good point...
We are very irresponsible as Americans because it's like we're a group of five-year-olds...they did this, they did that...never taking responibility for anything in this country that we did. I'm just 12, so I don't have a part in this (yet). I personally think it's because of all the commotion with the illegall aliens and what not...there's just too much going on and no one wants to be blamed for anything, thinking it's going to cause more. What they don't know is that all this is making the country look bad, and if someone once in a while would be responsible, maybe there wouldn't be so much to deal with.

Yes, we are. But it did not used to be this way. People stood up and took responsibility for their actions. Now all I hear is, "it's my right'. Doesn't seem to matter about anyone else's rights, who we step on or roll over to get what we want.
I hear it at work. People charge the insurance company for enough personal care products to supply them and the family for a year, and when called on it, and warned that the insurance may not necessarily pay they say, it is my right, my insurance company. I don't have any money, come and get it from me.
People blame whoever it is stylish at the time to blame. Our health care system is a mess. A couple years ago, it was the homeless people's fault. They clog the emergency rooms with minor complaints, to get a free meal or a warm place to sleep. Now it is fat people. They are costing the system billions in health care with their obesity-related diseases. When, if somebody would step up to the plate, and admit the system is broken, and fix it. Hiliary Clinton tried, and she got all kinds of critisim, but nobody supported her, or took her ideas and made them workable.
FEMA is a mess, I haven't heard anybody trying to fix it. They wanted to get rid of it, but we still have it.
We are about to get into another world war. All anybody does is buy bigger vehicles, and gripe about the price of gas. There is a huge list of excuses of why we shouldn't have alternative fuels. Nobody thinks that if we go to war in the Middle East with the Arabs, there will be no gas.Ethanol production causes as much polution as gas my foot. When the gas supply is cut off, everyone will wish we had some ethanol. But that is the democrats fault, or is it the republicans? And of course, it is somebodies' right not to have ethanol.
Can't anybody solve the immigration problem? It was on TV just last night, a bunch of soldiers putting up a barrier on the boarder. Millions of dollars to do this. Can't we figure out a way to bring the workers here to do the jobs us real americans are too prissy to do, without having them put a financial drain on our system? How about using the money those soldiers and that barrier cost. Oh, I forgot, it's the mexican peoples right to have free american medical care, food stamps, housing.
OK , I'll get off the soapbox.
We, as Americans, take our rights as Americans just a liitle to far. Just because we have these rights and freedoms, doesn't mean we have to exercise them, regardless of the cost to our fellow Americans. Basking in the glory that we are Americans, and have all these rights is no lnger enough for us. JFK, we have forgotten that used to be famous speech: "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."
I see it in the community. People say and do whatever they want, doesn't matter who they bother or hurt. It's their right.
It is our right to blame whoever we want for whatever, especially our country. JFK and the Founding Fathers are rolling over in their graves.

What is going on in this country does not necessarily have to 'do' with anything 'in' this country, but with the federal banking system (which is NOT U.S.) that was imposed upon us years ago. That combined with the fact that all of our newspapers and media have been purchased by a 'few entities' means that the news on t.v. is just pap now and the same on every single channel and none of it 'real', combine THAT with the fact that the television programming is deliberately designed to keep it's audience is a low level stupor appealing to greed and sex to keep the current generations in denial, we are pretty much screwed unless we throw out these media moguls, refuse to nurse off their signals. BUT, I will conclude by saying, that this is NOT FROM America. It is from the rich banking system that is global and that calls the shots all over the world. Everything and everybody all over the world is being manipulated. Hatred is being manipulated.

PREACH BROTHAMAN PREACH!! We as the American populace are irresponsible. Even children are quick to blame others for their mistakes: "Who broke the window?" "HE DID IT!!" "NO HE DID!!" ENOUGH!! It's time we step up to the plate and take responsibility for our actions. We all need to stop playing hot potato and pitching the blame to another person as fast as we can throw it right after we catch it. We will get burned if we hold onto it...but the scar we bear shows that we took responsibility and we should wear it as a badge of honor. It needs to stop because if it doesn't, WWIII may just begin with America.

You say we should blame ourselves for our problems, and I agree to a point. But I say everyone gets their fair share of the blame, us and them. That is just the way of the world, too many selfish people, and even when they aren't selfish they are imperfect and make mistakes that end up causing problems for themselves and others.

it is a lot easier for humans to blame someone than do something about it, but i guess we are kind of being irresponsible, but you are right we need to do something before WW3 starts. we can if we try and if we want to and i think (hopefully) we will.

I think our politicians are, so yes, since we vote for the politicians. We need to take back America before it is too late. Everyone is trying to play the "victim". Few people stand up and do the correct thing. We are all victims.
