iRiver Clix. The best flash player, BY FAR.
It stores 2GB (about 500 songs), views photos, plays video, has an FM tuner, FM + voice recording, and the battery lasts 19/20 hours before you have to charge it. You can download games onto the Clix, too.
It's got a cool design. You press the edge of the screen to navigate. Don't mind the pictures, it's much smaller than it looks.
It's $200, the same price as the matching-in-capacity Nano. The Clix won CNET's Editor's Choice award.
The best large capacity player is the Creative Zen Vision: M, HANDS-DOWN. It's customizable, and has a great screen along with a wide range of features and solid battery life.
Honorable mention goes to the Sandisk Sansa e200 series (I have one of these, too.) and the Toshiba Gigabeat S.

UH AIRHEADS HECK YES! all the creative mp3 players are better. you dim wits are freakin retarded the ipods are overated, gay , overpriced, rip,off ipoop=crap the vision m is especaill y better than the ipod video. oh and for those who dont agree get your facts starightsd the ipod is coming down and creative is comoing up and hopefully the future leader just as soon as people get it thorugh there thicksculls that the ippod is just bad and the specs suck 62k colors? 2 hr video life? i year? 300$ NO it should be more like 200$

heck yea, there's the zen vision M from creative, the samsung which is actually smaller than the ipod nano
The toshiba which is actually more like a media center and you can put more movies than the ipod.
I would rather get the Toshiba Gigabeat since you can watch more videos with a larger screen, and its still smaller than the ipod video.

i must say iPod is a brand!
u r purchasing iPod 30% for its functions,
70% for its design, image, brand and psychologically for our self-satisfaction!
there are more better portable mp3 player that even offer more better functions.
anyway, i will still picking iPod if im asked to choose!
please consider of Creative, SonyWalkman...as the iPod substitution.

No, there is absolutely nothing better than an ipod, especially mine...
Seriously, I know it's trendy and there are other brands and models out there, but it's intuitive and it's attractive and itunes is super easy...I love my ipod! (I have a 4G black nano, I just wish it wasn't scratched)
