I think it has to deal with depression and anxiety disorder. She's blaming her parent/s for her fears.

I think from her prespective thats what it means. But when I hear I think of my mom being overprotective and not letting me grow up or become my own person.

It means when she was young her mom shared all of her relationship problems with her and leaned on her like she was a friend instead of her child. Now as an adult she has problems trusting people in her own relationships because she doesn't want to get hurt like her mom. Basically her mom should have shared her problems with someone else and not relied on her daughter

no......she is talking about a boy who she was dating. He had gotten out of a relationship and he was still in love with his ex. He used his new girlfriend to help get him over the pain of his breakup. Like when she sings "I watched you cry everynight in your sleep......i was so young you should have known better than to lean on me" he only wanted moral support from her. Then he dumped her and broke her heart the same way hers had been broken. So now she has trust issues and is scared to get into a relationship
