Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!
Does the man look poor or Oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation? Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it? Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children? Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me? If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me? Should I call 9-1-1? Why is this street so deserted? We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.

This is all so confusing!

I need to debate this with some friends for a few days and try to come to a consensus.

Has anyone actually answered the question yet?

I don't think so. A matter of fact I see fantasy girl has given a fantasy answer. Bush had security bulletins given to him "everyday" that stated that Bin Laden was going to fly airplanes into a building. Wow! Missed that but that is because that didn't happen. Then a second paragraph that is so filled with inaccurasies it is sadly laughable. To be so nieve, especially as the world of terrorists has been so vividly thrown back in the spotlight in Israel again, that terrorism is not done by one man and it is not something new or created in the last few years, is hideous.

To have the same people who claim that 9/11 was created and/or caused by the US to then point to the 9/11 commission as their bible is a riot. Of course, they have read the 9/11 commission as well as they read the bible so I guess it is fitting.

Well the first thing I would do is bring every last one of our soldiers home, then I would close our borders to every body. Then stay 100% out of world affairs, just let them kill each other. and since were not spending all that money fighting wars based on lies, and keeping all the overseas bases open I would take that extra money and use it to build the best defense system in the world, that way everyone else would think twice about attacking us! and the U.S. would be a virtual fortress that would be impenetrable by an invading or attacking force.

To best answer that question I would have to refer to the 911 commission when questioning Bush's cabinet members about 9/11. They were all asked repeatidly why nothing was done against Bin Laden prior to 9/11 and since Clinton was in office. Apparently since Bush took office all covert activities to thwart and halt Bin Laden ceased. So the commission wanted to know why these programs were not continued and why the presidential security bulletin given to him everyday that stated Bin Laden plans to hijack planes to fly into buildings was not heeded. There were no response to these questions. Matter of fact Rice's answer was very dumb. She said the security bulletin was too vague. She said it said something about Bin Laden flying planes into buildings. The commission was insulted by her act of ignorance.

So would Gore have prevented 9/11 who knows. Maybe he would have paid attention to the security bulletins. Maybe he would have gave the order to kill Bin Laden when the drone plane found him the summer of 2001 when Bush refused. Who knows. I do feel he would have concentrated his efforts in Afghanistan and Pakistan to find Bin Laden, the man that did attack us. Instead of attacking Iraq that had nothing to do with 9/11 and destabilizing the entire middle east region. To quote Clinton when Bush took over as president and Clinton made his final words of advice to Bush; "The concerns are Bin Laden and North Korea and Iraq is not an issue."

So draw your own conclusions.

I don't understand the liberal perspective. Why would you want the Iraqi people to suffer any longer under Saddam's rule? Don't you want to help people? Keep in mind that this is the same person who assinated his own cabinet leaders when he took over as president and executed 140 Shiites because he thought they were ALL in a plot to kill him. What about the thousands of Kurds that he used chemical weapons on? ....his own people. Is this the kind of world you want to live in?
