I had the same problem, it was more a problem with Windows than the monitor. Right click to get your display properties, on the 2nd tab Screen Saver, click the Energy Saving settings button, try changing "Turn Off Monitor" to Never, if that doesnt work you could change "System Standby" to Never also.
My problem was the screen only showed distored blocks of color on the screen after the windows turned the monitor off or it went into sleep mode or system standby.

At work we had this problem. It could be the monitor , port that it is pluged into or the mother board. at work I think the tech crew got rid of the in tire PC because it had other problems as well. Also it was my computer doing it and it could do it when ever it would go to screen saver.
Hope this helps. Buying a new monitor might not fix it but it will probably point you in the right direction.

Either its getting old and over-heated during those two hours - get a new cheap one - OR - right click on ur desktop or go to the control panel and edit your monitor settings - it is probably set to ' turn off after 20 mins' or 1 hour or something to 'conserve power' a common setting available in nearly all monitors which causes them to shut off to save power if not used for a long time - that is your best bet.

Possibly: 1. It went into Sleep or Standby mode. To fix it, just change your display settings especially the screen saver settings.
2. Your computer froze. Re-start the computer and see if it happens again.
The best way to find out is to re-start the computer and see if it happens again or if the monitor turns on again. IF the monitor doesn't turn on, You'll have to get a new one.

If it's left on and you leave the computer alone, then it could be the screen saver/power profile settings.
Check in control panel for power settings. The monitor may be turning off after a period of non-use.

Go into control panel and find the power options folder, open it up and check and see what you have the monitor set on. It might be set up to shut off after so much time of not being in use.

Check your connections...leaving your monitor on would have nothing to do with it. Check to make sure the dimmer light on the monitor didn't get accidentally bumped...it will darken the screen and make it look like it isn't on. If this doesn't work, try re-booting your computer. Make sure the monitor is in the on position.

Throw the monitor out the window..if you have no window well..The wall will work just as well.(Don't do this unless you want to clean up the mess or fix the hole in the wall) Thank you!

You probabaly have the power save on, which turns it to sleep after a certain amount of time.

I guess its the problem of ur screesaver, just try to turn off the screensaver by selecting 'None' option under setting/screesaver menu.
