The history of property is kept at your local land registry, which will be listed on your title documents for the house. Here is where you will find all you need to know about the house, who owned it, whether it used to be something else etc. - Good Luck

I would go right back to the begining of creation. I would want to be right there in the Gaeden of eden as a fly on a tree to see what really happened, then I think I would go and visit Abraham and Sarah and then on to Jacob and the 12 tribes of Israel.

I am not sure about a web site but you should be able to visit the local town hall and pull the records on your land. It is all public info.

Have a lawyer do a Title Search for you.
It's not cheap, but gives you peace of mind.
