Is there an epidemic of lice among male humanoids, or is it that males are just lazy about personal grooming & cultivating individual "Style".
Lately it seems that the only men with any kind of polish are; Celebrities (Male), Straight Black Men, and Openly Gay Men.
While other men it seems are getting more and more grungy, grubby, obnoxious, rude, belligerant, defiant, hostile, degenerative, and sleazy.
What ever happened to the standard for good looking for men.

that just seems to be the "in" trend.
just like there was the whole Courney Cox hair and the Rachael hair for women in the 1990's/2000's.

it really shouldn`t matter how a man looks.
as long as his 'bad boy' look doesn`t reflect on his personality, he should be fine.
why do people care so much about looks than personality? honestly.

Let's not limit the definition of "good looking" to only include men with lots of hair.

Besides, I think that the bald "look" will have a little more lasting power than other hair fads. Be happy, because nothing looks worse than a bad hairpiece, and most people cannot afford to spend the money for a good one.

Face it, men, (and most women) do not like either a receding hairline or a bald spot. Men are FINALLY beginning to realize that combover do not fool anyone. The shaven skull is a much better look than any of these.

Bald is beautiful!!! Many exceedingly distinguished men have bald heads but I think some of the reason more youth and younger men are shaving their heads is two-fold. One is that they realize that looks do not define who they are, in which case this makes those who preen their hair to be excessively superficial individuals. Second is that many see their fathers (or celebrities like Donald Trump) with bad combovers and are heading fate off at the pass.

I subscribe to both these ideals. ;)

LOL.I'd say shaving the head during the summer is a good measure for keeping the head as tan as the body and keeping the scalp cleaner.Shaved heads don't look all that bad.My husband is a Marine and I think his head look better shaved than with the high and tight.

I can't speak for other men, but as my hair line recedes further and further, I feel more inclined to just shave my head.

Fashion, trend. Our world today puts so much emphasis on it that we'd likely cut our arms off it were considered fashionable (sorry for the gore). But its just the way we live and categorize ourselves.

My theory is three reasons:

1. There is the bald plague. By the age of 50 half of all men have symptoms of male pattern baldness. But it is not a disease. It is all because of genetics and heredity. Men go bald because they were naturally set up to be that way.

2. Social pressure or regulation. All the armed forces in the United States do not approve of long hair on men. That will ruin a military career. As soon as new recruits report for basic training, the first thing that is done is to give them skin head haircuts. Even after boot camp is passed and the hair regulations are somewhat relaxed, many of the male servicemen keep the skin head look.
A similar situation occurs in most of the police forces in the United States. You will notice that many of men in law enforcement positions have shaved heads.

3. Hair is a nuisance. In many jobs, especially in construction, law enforcement, and athletics, which often require wearing a hard hat or helmet, having a lot of hair, especially in hot weather, is uncomfortable, and the hair gets sweaty and dirty. For many, shaving it down to the skin solves that problem.
