I cannot speak for all but I hear a lot of people putting his religion down not his acting.
He might have gone over broad with it at times.
I mean you don't see all other actors and actresses coming forth as THIS or THAT religion..
BUT he has become a LARGE spokesperson for Scientology which is mis understood.
Also IF he was a MAIN STEAM religion and not so outspoken about it then he would just be another actor.
SAD HUH? that people are judging his acting based on his religion? Would they hate him where he a Jew? Or Catholic? Christian?
With Scientology he can be any of those, it is open to all religions.
I went to a BIG Celebration for Scientologist and Tom was there, everyone acted like HE was a GOD or better than L.Ron Hubbard!
They over killed it with the Mission Impossible theme and all that!
Even some people there thought it was OVER DONE!
But you know what he is really passionate about his religion and he should not be picked on because of it, and you know something?
Being a Scientologist he has learned to TUNE out such negative thoughts and they do not bother him!
Plenty of celebrities do things in public view that is morally wrong or to draw attention to themselves. Tom is drawing attention to his religion and bottom line if it was a MAIN STREAM then no one would care, but it is one that a lot of people still have not heard of and feel scared about because they do not know.
Get to know it and you will understand why Cruise is so pumped up about it!
There are millions of members world wide!

It's not simply because of his religion it's because what his religioun says about medication. He said the Brooke Sheilds should have not taken medicine for her postpartum depression even though he is A. a man B. never been through it C. has no ****** idea what it's like. After my first son was born I had postpartum depression and since it wasn't treated it turned into pyscosis after a year. I heard voices, saw things, and seriously believed that my child was better off dead than to have a crazy mother like me. This could have all been avoided by my taking an anti-depressant for a week or two. Best wishes

First of all, you need to learn how to spell RELIGION. Secondly, I don't think that people hate him because of his religion - it's because he openly tries to ram HIS beliefs down everyone else's throats!! That's when he definitely lost my admiration. He may be a good looking guy & a so-so actor, but he really stuck his foot in it BIG when he openly criticized Brooke Shields after she came forward with the story of her terrible post-partum depression & the help she received from anti-depressants. Then, the icing on the cake, was when he went on the TODAY show & basically told Matt Lauer he was stupid & knew nothing about the psychiatric world, whereas, he knew ALL! Take it from me, post-partum depression IS a serious medical condition. I should know, I went through it after having my first daughter. It wasn't until about a month after she was born, when I could start taking BCP's again & got my hormones regulated, that I started feeling like a normal human being. I'm sorry, but NO MAN, whether he be a Scientologist, Atheist or Baptist, has ANY right to put down a woman for taking medication to help with PPD until he himself gives birth & experiences the joys of pregnancy, labor, delivery & the post-partum changes a woman has to go through!!! I'm pretty positive that I'll see pigs fly before that happens! Well, that's why I HATE him. Does that answer your question?

His religion is a cult, look it up in wikipedia, it's all based on some Xenu guy from outerspace that brought people here billions of years ago and brainwashed them. And then he doesn't believe in psychiatry or post partom depression, or any pills to help with any kind of depression. We's a total wack job. Anyone the believes in Scientology is a wack job. Leah Reminey is a scientologist, but I can deal with her cause she doesn't shove it down your throat like Tom.
And then he totally brainwashed Katie. Before him, she was a good Catholic girl, virgin, waiting for marriage. She gives up her career, becomes a scientologist, gets knocked up, and can't use any other adjective other than "amazing". I hope her family and friends stage an intervention and get her the frig out of there!

I think if Tom publicly stuck to what he's good at -- producing movies that sell -- and kept his mouth shut about, well, almost everything else, that he would have done better.
I think he also lost a lot of points when he and Nicole Kidman divorced. IIRC, he said some stupid things about it, so everyone felt badly for her. In the meantime, her career is soaring. His has flattened out.
Tom -- go back to making movies. Shut up about things you don't understand. The fans will return, especially if you continue to make movies as good as "Last Shogun".

If you look into Scientology, you will see how insane the belief system is and how destructive it can be. He is fast becoming a has-been. Unfortunately, Scientology owns Hollywood, so we will continue to hear how wonderful Tom Cruise is until the Scientologists find another poster boy who is more acceptable to the general public.

The dude dumped the lovely Nichole Kidman for ugly Penelope Cruz. He is also full of himself and does whatever he wants. He is extremely arrogant. I can't imagine what would happen to this country if he takes a high government role.

who's conscious of in my view i do no longer hate him (or love him) - how ought to I do any of those while i do no longer additionally be attentive to the guy, I basically have considered the actor act! this is humorous how crowds artwork - they turn a guy right into a semi-god, and sooner or later, for no tangible reason (how undesirable is it to bounce on a coach asserting you're in love?), they like to kill the semi-god. Many primitive tribes nonetheless try this. The Aztecs usually did it with chosen prisoners who lived like kings for a year and the sacrificed with their heart taken out on a similar time as stay of path. i don't be attentive to no count if he's cool in real existence, in line with risk he's, in line with risk he's a administration freak who needs anybody to do merely what he feels they could do, in line with risk he proselytises approximately scientology, I have no thought. i do no longer additionally be attentive to no count if he's clever or no longer. What i be attentive to is that video clips are merely video clips, and maximum usually the character considered in video clips will don't have something to do with the actor in real existence. So i won't get myself to love, or hate, a individual i don't be attentive to.

define awesome... if you really think he's an awesome actor you have really low standards.... he not only is a bad actor, but he dumped NICOLE (who is REALLY talented) for penelope (:S... no comments, just think the lame spanish accent) and made a scandal with the katie holmes thing... which, i've been told, was a scam to cover up his homosexuality
