ok, well I have to write this essay for ender's game...and I dont knnow how i should start it! I know how to write an essay and the whole structure of it, but i dont have a good idea of how to start the intro paragraph. The prompt is basicly how Ender changes after being separated from his family. If you have any ideas, it would be GREATLY appreciated.

His changes growing up are both physical, mental, emotional, and psychological. When he leaves Earth, he's very young, very immature. Smart, but not really knowing how to handle things in life. Easily overwhelmed or frustrated. His whole world was essentially made up of his family and his classmates--some of them bullies. I would say even spending the amount of time he was with Peter essentially damaged his psyche for life. Everything he does, every decision he makes he views it through the lens....what would Peter do...what would Valentine do. He is constantly judging himself saying "Am I like Peter?" Becoming Peter is his worst fear in life. He doesn't understand him, and he's worried that that is his destiny. So even when he's in battle school--especially when he's in battle school--Peter haunts him and effects his decisions and character development.

You could organize your paper to track the growth of his character socially...(how does he learn to interact with people, how does he make friends, how does he deal with his enemies, how does he use people, how do people use him) psychologically...(how does he view himself, how does he develop his identity, does he like himself, does he trust himself, etc.) and mentally or emotionally (he learns, he studies, he observes, he thinks...he becomes....in other words one of his tactics is to learn and absorb all the facts, and then find ways to implement those facts to his advantage...he observes the enemy...studies it...almost becomes one with it...imagines it from their perspective almost...and then he uses their weaknesses to destroy them. Emotionally...what skills and techniques if any does he use to cope with the stress and pressure....does he mature....

If you're having trouble starting the introductory paragraph, then skip to another section. Start with the body of the essay and write the conclusion that follows; then write the introduction last. Writing the introduction last will be easy, since it will just be "predicting" what is to come. I find this technique helpful sometimes.

Best wishes and God bless.
