Both. We use the VCR to tape programmes and view a small number of pre-recorded cassettes, but the DVD player is our primary movie player. We actually have two DVD players, but we're planning on giving one to my mother-in-law, who doesn't have one at the moment.

I use to own a VCR years ago. Now I never use it.
Switched to VCD about 4 years back and last year to DVDs.

I realize I'm going to sound like a dinosaur, so for the record I'm only 28. But... CDs and DVDs seem to me to be a genuis money maker. They are so "delicate" you can scratch it with a cotton ball. What good is the quality of the sound and image if the DVD player can't read it.

Well the plus about DVDs is that they take up less room and have a way better image. But the plus about VHS is that they don't get scratched, and they last a little longer. But they both rock! :)

DVD all the way.... they last longer, they're more convenient, and you don't have to rewind!!!
I don't even own a VCR!

We owe both. We also owe a dvd recorder, but basically it's a piece of junk, we got one that was fairly cheap, and hopefully, sometime, I can get a more expensive one. It's true, you get what you pay for.
