I think they can, they've got a bunch of games against Florida, Washington and Philadelphia, as well as a bunch against Colorado, Pittsburgh, San Diego and Houston.

I'm sure they can.

However, becareful what you ask for....you just might get it.

Remember last year? The Cardinals were the only team to win at least 100 games...and didnt make it to "The Big Dance" (thats what Jim Price calls it).

I doubt the Mets will win 100 games. I see them giving back a bunch of that lead, and if they're lucky, hanging on to win their division.

They've been struggling lately against bad teams. Carlos Delgado's having trouble hitting his weight.

And the pitching has been especially bad lately.

Pedro Martinez is hurting, and wasn't pitching great immediately before his injury either.
Tommy Glavine's like 40 years old, and the last month or so, he's been awful.
Steve Trachsel is a #5 starter at best, and isn't going to be able to carry them even if he does get hot.
This Pelfrey kid's fastball is flatter than the girl I took to my Jr. High School prom. I dont care if you throw 110 MPH... if the ball has no movement, pros are going to hit it once they've seen it a few times.

With Banister hurt and El Duque being inconsistant, John Maine is the closest thing to a reliable starter the Mets have right now.

That's not going to cut it down the stretch. They need help and badly.

I think they'd be lucky to win 95. If they go 31-30 for the rest of the year, they should still make the playoffs... but without some pitching, they can't go very far.

With this schedule:

J28-30 @Atlanta
A1-3 @Florida
A4-6 Philadelphia
A8-10 San Diego
A11-13 @Washington
A14-17 @Philadelphia
A18-20 Colorado
A22-24 St. Louis
A25-27 Philadelphia
A29-31 @Colorado
S1-3 @Houston
S4-6 Atlanta
S7-10 Los Angeles
S11-13 @Florida
S15-17 @Pittsburgh
S18-21 Florida
S22-25 Washington
S26-28 @Atlanta
S29-O1 @Washington

I'm going to say no. I think they'll win at least 92, but not sure they can hit the century.

Nitz the only joke in here is what u believe. What ru retarded? Do u even watch the mets or know what they're doing? They're in 1st u retart and to finish with only 80 wins they would have to go 20-41 while they're 60-41 right now. back to ur question I believe they can. They have an excellent bullpen and have been managing to win without their ace Pedro and their r rumors of Dontrelle becoming a met. If Pedro can come back to form and their whole rotation stays consistent(Maine has been pitching sum great games) I believe they can win 100 games, they're alrdy the best team in their league.

They can, but San Diego and Houston are not going to be picnics and neither is Colorado. San Diego and Colorado are fighting it out in the lackluster NL West and if Houston can get the bats going, look out. I do look for the Mets to finish with at least 95 wins and the NL East division title. World Series? Possibly.

Mets are arguably the biggest joke in baseball. Honestly, I see this team choking down the stretch - and, yes, possibly missing the postseason. This team is pathetic, has no heart, the worst fan-base in sports, and have the ugliest, dirtiest ball park in the MLB. An absolute disgrace to baseball. Mets winning 100 games? Maybe 80. Maybe.

Possibly, but it'll be difficult. You can never predict for injuries, but if the key players like Wright, Delgado, Beltran etc can stay healthy they have a shot. The expectation is they'll slow down a bit though. I'm a Yankees fan, but I've really been enjoying the Mets play as well

Mets Fans are disgusting, arrogant, and still watching Cinderella every night with their door closed. Every time they come to Philadelphia, we need extra police at the dumpsters.

Overrated, a one season team, inferior to the entire American League.

What difference does it make come playoff time?

I agree with Nitz. Mets are a joke. That said, they will win 91 games, and lose in the NLDS.
