Do you mean square footage?

You could measure the area several different ways.

To find square inches, just multiply the 161 by the 109.

Square footage can be found either by 161/12 * 109/12 or (161*109)/144. Both are really the same thing, since 144 is just the denominators multiplied by each other). That comes to about 122 square feet (since you started out with two three digit numbers, your answer should be rounded to three digits).

For square meters, you have to convert from US Customary System (feet, inches) to Metric (meters, centimeters, etc). There's 2.54 cm per inch, so you have one side that's 161*2.54, or 408.94 cm. The other side is 109*2.54, or 276.86 cm. There's 100 cm per meter, so your area, in square meters, is 4.0894 meters times 2.7686 meters, or 11.3 square meters (you started out with two three digit numbers, so your answer should be rounded to three digits).

You may as well round off to the same number of digits you started with, since you really don't know if that side is 161 inches, or 160 7/8 inches, or 161 23/341 inches. Plus, your local store could have trouble measuring out exactly 11.321912863096702228937954404 square meters.

You can't take the square root of an area. If you are looking for the area in sq. meters, just convert the inches to meters and multiply the two together.

It sounds like you want to know the square feet of the room, not the square root. Your room is 13'5" by 9' 2". You need to convert the room to just feet or inches. You can't multiply feet and inches together. So converting the room to feet is 13.41' by 9.08'. The square footage is 121.76 square feet, or 121' 9" (roughly). Good Luck

Not sure what you are asking here but if for example you are measuring the floor for say tiles then from the sizes given you need 11.5 sq metres or 13.5 sq yards (approx)
