Colors You Should Use
This question often gets overlooked, but it’s an important one. Using the right colors of eyeshadow can help your eyes to look larger or more prominent. Using the wrong colors of eyeshadow can make your eyes look smaller, more deep and squinty. We’ll help you choose colors that are especially for the purpose of making your eyes appear larger.

Try: Lighter eyeshadows. Sheer pinks, light browns, light violets and crystal pinks are all good places to start. The lighter colors help reflect light and draw the outside edges out instead of inward. This causes your eyes to appear larger.

Accent: If you want to, you can accent your eyes with a darker color. This color goes in the crease and is blended out. The trick is to use a color that is only a shade or two darker than what you’re wearing. If you go too dark, like black or dark purples, greens or blues, you won’t be able to blend it very well into your lighter colors and you run the risk of closing your eyes.

Avoid: It’s important to avoid certain colors because they are known for causing a “shadow” look on the eyelid, which closes your eye. I don’t recommend using dark grays or black, dark green, purple or blue. Dark browns are easier to work with, because they’re neutral colors.

Eyeliner: Use lighter colored eyeliners including silver, gold and white. Using dark brown or black will definitely minimize your eyes and make them appear smaller than they are.

* How To Do Your Makeup *

Small eyes makeup tips have a specific application method to maximize the effects of the eyeshadow and eyeliner.

Applying eyeshadow: Apply your lightest color of eyeshadow (crystalline or light pink) from your eyelashes to your eyebrow. Then apply your next dark color (light brown, darker pink, etc.) from your eyelashes to just above the crease of your eyelid. If you’re using a third color, now’s the time to apply it to your crease and blend it outward to the outer corner of your eye. Make sure everything is blended

Applying eyeliner: Eyeliner can be so crucial it’s important to get the technique just right. Applying eyeliner along the whole lid gives it a definite edge, and closes your eye. Instead, apply it along the outer 2/3 instead. Giving it a slight upward “wing” at the outer edge will help to elongate your eye. Finally, don’t line your bottom lid at all. This is equivalent to drawing a black circle around your eye and guess what? Yep. It closes your eye.

And that’s it! Using these small eyes makeup tips should help bring out your eyes.

It doesn't matter what color eyeshadow or eyeliner versus mascara. It's all in the way you apply your make-up to your eyes. Wearing glasses gives you the advantage of really playing up your eyes so that they are seen through your lenses. MaryKay.com has great make-up tips for this and so do other beauty websites. Some recommend that you wear your eye make-up a little heavier if you wear eyeglasses.

Use a little white eye liner only on the inside of the lower lid, around the lash line, but not below. It makes the eyes seem more wide open. And the white reflects to help the whites of your eyes seem less red or dull as well.

Why do you want them to look larger? They're probably pretty the way they are.

Go to Bobbi Brown's makeup site, www.bobbibrowncosmetics.com, and check there - I think she has different sections for Asian and African-American women. Her makeup is really simple and natural, and she shows you how to use eyeshadow well.
