In Spanish there are 3 types of verbs that end in: ar, er, ir
Today you will learn how to conjugate, or change, the ar verb. Let's take a look at the verb bailar-to dance. In English we conjugate it: I dance, you dance, he/she dances, we dance, they dance, ya'll dance. Spanish is different because each pronoun (I, you, he,etc) has a different ending as follows
I-o
you-as
he/she-a
you(formal)-a
we-amos
they-an
ya'll-an
to put the correct ending you must first take the "ar" off of the end of the verb. bailar....bail
so if I want you to say "I dance" you find the ending for "I" and attach it....bailo. How would you say "we dance"? Take off the "ar" ....bail....look for the "we" ending...amos and attach it...bailamos good job... Conjugate the verb bailar for each pronoun. Here are some other "ar" verbs that follow this pattern. Try them! tomar-to take/to drink nadar-to swim besar-to kiss
Next class we will learn the the pronouns in Spanish! Adiós! By the way, Lizard, kelly, and reggie have errors in their suggestions!!!
