If you believe in creation, the first chicken laid the first egg (so the chicken came first).
If you believe in evolution, the very last "almost chicken" laid the very first "its a real chicken" egg (so the egg came first).
This seems more of a philosophy question than a science question. I tried my Magic Eight Ball on this one and all it said was "Answer hazy, try again later."

If you look at it from a religious stand point the chicken did because the Bible didn't say anything about God creating eggs.
If you look at it from an evolutionary stand point the egg did because the first of a line of chickens that classifies as chicken came from and egg.

the egg. Note that the question doesn't specify a chicken's egg, and dinosaurs were laying eggs way before chickens existed.
Looking at it from another perspective, the evolutionary one, at some point a creature not-quite-chicken laid an egg which contained a slight genetic mutation and the chicken resulted.

Logically, the chicken came first. A chicken is real. You can see it, touch it, it occupies space, etc., etc., etc.
An egg is only a potential chicken. Reality trumps potentiality every time.
