I read through all of the answers given for your question. (By the way, great question! It is very thought provoking and complex.)

I would not eliminate any emotion from my life and these are the reasons why:

If you never felt sadness, you would never realize how great feeling happiness really is.
If you never felt pain, you would never be able to help another get through the hurtful times in life.
If you never had self-pity, you would never be able to show sympathy towards others.
If you never felt anger, you could never channel that anger to get to a new and better place in your life.

All of your emotions are so important. They help you decide where to go in your own life and they let you help guide others in their lives.

There are no emotions I would care to eliminate entirely. They are all part of the human life experience. Even the negative ones have their purposes, even if only to allow something to contrast positive emotions to in order to better appreciate them. This being said, there are some emotions I would like to possess LESS of . . . the main one being fear. Fear can save your life. Fear can also bear a terrible cost.

This is by far the most interesting question I've read in four months.

I would eliminate fear out of my life because I feel that it prevents me from doing things.

I fear that my car will break down (even though it never does), I fear my boss (eventhough he's not a great leader),I fear that I will break a leg, I fear that I will become a nobody.

I would eliminate Fear.

Self-pity is the most useless emotion. If I sit wallowing in my own petty problems, I find it hard to focus on solutions. I have to look at all the crazy stuff going on in the world to give myself a wake up call, and replace self pity with gratitude for the truly blessed life that I've been given.

I mostly agree with spamandham but jealousy must sometimes be shed. I would also say fear or anxiety to repeat what another has said, though I'm not sure if I would call it an emotion so much as a response.

I would eliminate jealousy.I never used to be jealous but now that I'm with my recent boyfriend I'm very jealous.Hes very handsome and people are always hitting on him.I should be proud but instead I freak out.I know he loves me and hes with me every day and I have no reason to be jealous but I am.Eliminate that and Id be more happy because Id have less stress.

I remove happiness...oh wait that's already been done. Well then I'd remove joy. Shoot done again. Well then perhaps satisfaction...not there? Well how bout the feeling of accomplishment? No. Hmmm how bout the feeling like this world is going to crash right down upon me and leave me suffocating in a empty cold dark pit of hell where death becomes a prayer and something to embrace instead of something to fear.

Guilt.

Guilt makes it difficult to harm others should harming others become the most expedient course of action. Which means one then has to go to the trouble of going round things the long way instead of taking short cuts through life.
