Just curious why you are leaving? Do you dislike the job and found something better? You also have to consider if you are going to use this place as a reference in future job searches. If you leave early they may give you a bad reference. I would stay the whole day unless the job is unbearable.

Are you getting paid for the whole day? If you are you should stay for it. It might be your last day there, but these things come back on you. A few hours early? That is theft.

Depends if you want to leave on a good note or not. If you're hoping someoen will eventually give you a good recommendation there then I don't see why you wouldn't stay the whole day, same as every day. If you leave early it gives a lasting impression that you were unprofessional.

well, if your looking to pass the day quickly with minimal work, spend time:
*packing up your stuff, cleaning your work area- make it look like you were never there, i'm sure the effort will be appreciated
*take an hour lunch- or longer than that which you are normally aloud- and celebrate your last day with co-workers. no one should begrudge you a longer lunch.
* double check with your supervisor to see if there is anything that you need to wrap up/ could help with to make yor leaving smoother- ie)signing-off on paper work, the exit interview, etc.
*other tasks, to the extent that they will not be frowned upon, and could be considered useful

and, if after all these efforts, there is nothing to do, then you can leave early, but only if it's someone else's suggestion- otherwise you should be professional to the last.

You dont say why you would need to leave early. I say you should stay, I mean it is your last day and you may need the recommendation. If you NEED to leave a little early just talk it over with your boss or ask someone to cover you, I'm sure they'll understand.

Unless your to be ex-employer gives you the ok stamp to leave early i'd stay all the way until the very end. Future job references and if you're employer mentions that ohhhhhh yeah and remember that person. Did not bother to finish their last day of work with us.... BLAH BLAH BLAH

hey its gonna be my last day as well after a couple of dayz.
I wud say let the impression of your sincerety be there till the last they. Just dont be greedy for an hour or so and break ur reputation into pieces. I wud work properly in the last day of work, as I know this is a reference for future employments.
Its ur choice now.

I would stay the whole day, like normal and leave with a good reputation. You may need your employer for a good reference for another job sometime.

How do you want everybody to remember you? As the girl who skipped out early, or the person who stuck with it to the very end. Lasting impressions count just as you never get a second chance to make a first impression

I'd say stay, cause you never know if you may want to take that job again (you might have a rough spot where you need cash), and also if future jobs call for references, your old boss can give you a shining review, helping you land better jobs.

I personally wouldn't have even showed up, but I'm a prick.
