I saw a report on it the other night - it costs the government approximately one and a half cents to make a one cent coin. It seems that they are giving serious consideration to discontinuing the penny and rounding sales up or down to the nearest five cent increment.

they say that every year. It is possible one day it will happen, how ever I dont think that day will be this year.
