How come you can kill a deer and put it on your wall but it's illegal to keep them as a pet?

because they are wild animals and can't be tamed and kept as pets. It isn't fair to the animal and it would be dangerous for the owner.

You have to have a license to hunt deer, and the number of licenses given in a certain area is limited. In many areas, if deer are not hunted, they will die of starvation, or overpopulate neighborhoods and get hit by cars. A real sportsman kills them not only for population control, but also to eat the meat. Hanging the trophy on the wall is a personal choice.

I knew people in Virginia who considered deer in their yard as pets - fed them and all that. They probably aren't housebroken very well --- I don't think I'd want one running around my home - they could kick a lamp over. I haven't heard of it to be illegal though. LOL.

In my area ya can have them as pets..but there are restrictions for it..like land or acreage for them ,special fencing,shelter etc...or have alot of them and make it a reserve for deer..People around here have emu's,buffalo,and elk as well..(NE Missouri)
