I have never heard of this because I have never worked at a pizza place but it sounds odd. That's pretty cool that you can work from home taking pizza orders, tho. How did you get that gig?

After seeing other answers I am now going to ask for mine not to be cut either. I am a vegatarian since birth and I never thought about the cutter having touched meat. Dammit, thanks guys. ;)
I always tell the people at the deli and subway to change their gloves for that reason and to use a clean knife to cut my lettuce and cheese (lol) sub.
