Try didtheyreadit.com. It invisibly tracks emails and tells you when, where (geographically) an email is opened, as well as the duration that it is opened (viewed) for. The first 10 tracked messages are free, but you'll need to pay afterwards. Anyway, I use it all the time and it's great!

I assume that you want to trace the e-mail address to the name of the person who uses it. This can be undertaken using three methods:
1) If the user has registered their correct name with their Yahoo account then one could ask Yahoo directly for the details. In the UK Yahoo are only able to release this information to Law Enforcement or some government agencies due to the data protection act.
2) Identify the ip address of the sender from an e-mail message header, find out which ISP is hosting that IP address using reverse DNS (www.samspade.org). You would then need to ask the hosting ISP which one of their users was using the IP address at the time the e-mail was sent. Unfortunatly ISP's are also subject to the data protection act (or similar) and will only release this information to Law Enforcement etc..
3) Your best option is to e-mail the address and ask the user what their real name is.

If it is a legit yahoo email, you can't. The issue is that the email actually originates with yahoo's servers, which means that the only IP address available to you will be that of one of the yahoo email servers.
If it is a fake yahoo address (i.e. somebody spoofed that as the originating account), you might be able to track them based on their IP - in Outlook, right click on the email and click "view headers". However, real spammers tend to have lots of fake "thor away" IP addresses.
In general, to track domain info, go to www.dnsstuff.com and use their whois tool on the domain name.

Aside from viewing their profile on Yahoo!, you can track the IP address by finding it in the email message's header. Once you have the IP address, go to the DOS prompt or Command Prompt and type "tracert" (without the quotes) and then the IP address.
Example:
tracert 192.168.0.0

try putting the user id or real name of the person you are trying to reach in here.
http://search.profiles.yahoo.com/
you'll only get a result if their email is available for public viewing tho'.
Hope you're not a stalker, lol

You can't. It is very complex and normal people can't do it.
