ok im 13 how much allowance do u think i should be getting because i clean like the whole house when my parents are gone?

Well, the allowance depends on how much money your parents make. I think that if they make OK money that $20 a week is good. I also think that you should be 16 to have a cell because you don't drive until then, so really, what's the point? The money that your parents could be spending on your cell bill is more money for your allowance

I will tell you what my parents told me. You are a part of the family and cleaning is a part of your job. Now how I got an allowance is I found one thing I like to do on weekends, then I asked my parents if there was something extra I could do to earn that money for the weekend. I am raising my kids the same way. As for the cell phone, anywhere between 13 and up. It all depends on the kind of city you live in, for safety issues. I am about to get my seven year old a cell phone but it's to call his father on and his grandmother. So I guess also it's about what the phone is for.

Ok, I have 4 children. 13, 10, 4, and 10months. My 13yr old and my 10yr old get $5/wk. My 13yr old has to keep his bedroom cleaned(vac, dust, clean closet) clean the toilets, take out the trash and mow the yard(we have 1 acre). My 10yr old has to clean the sinks, the mirrors, keep her room clean, empty the dishwasher, and they both take turns loading the dishwasher. They do however have extra chores to help me at times that pay extra, but they are hard jobs like painting and removing wallpaper, etc.
Both of my older kids have cell phones, but it is because they are in so many activities that they need to be able to get a hold of us at anytime to let us know when and where to pick them up. There cell phones are not for talking to their friends. In fact I have blocks on their phones so that they can only call and receive calls from the number that I programmed in.

I have never gotten an allowance so I don't know how much you should get. I got my cellphone at 10 but i was paying for it myself too so I think when you get into high school might be good.

i think you should stop worrying about allowance and cell phone and appriciate that you have home to clean and parents to go to. seemes kind of selfish, do me a favor as soon as you are old enough to get a work permit, get a real job and then appriciate the things that you can get for yourself. i'm not trying to be mean it's just the hard truth. you might see how hard your parents work to get you things like that, and yes i think you are too young for a cell phone, wait until you are at least 15 years old.

If you're thirteen years old, you should get maybe 1% of your parents yearly income not to exceed $10 a week.... so average
5-7 dollars a week.
And if you're only thirteen, you shouldn't have a cell phone but if you can pay for it and the plan then by all means get one...

I think $20.00, do you get any other money,
you should learn to be responsible, do things because it is your responsability not because you are getting payed. I think your parents appreciate the fact you clean, and it's great that you do it with out asking. I think they should be 15 when they get a cell phone, but then who will pay for it, get a family plan w/your parents and limit your usage.

I never got an allowance, I was always told that helping with chores was just my job as being part of the family. We ALL had to pitch in, not just mom and dad to do it all. So therefore if mom and dad didn't get paid for doing anything (except going to work) why should we get paid?

You want an allowance? You want a cell phone? You're selfish, your parents feed you and buy your clothes and you want more money?? Damn, you're a brat. You can have a cell phone when you get a job and can pay the monthly bills for it.

It depends on how much your parents make and how much work you do for allowance.
I think it doesnt matter what age for the cell,as long as they pledge to take care of it.
