An undergraduate is a student who is working on or has completed a 4-year degree (a Bachelors degree). While a graduate is either someone who has earned their diploma by completing their undergraduate program, OR is a student who is in graduate school, i.e., working on their Masters or Doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D., etc) degree. If a student has their Highest degree, and is taking additional coursework, that would be classified as "post-graduate" schooling.

Hope this helps.
