I'm guessing because when a person asks a legitimate question (i.e. What are some early pregnancy symptoms?) and gets a response such as "Shut the F*ck up and keep your God d@mn legs closed, you wh0re." it's probably upsetting to the person who posted the question. People who give rude or unkind answers out of sheer meanness are ruining this site. You take what has the potential to be a very good, useful site, and you get a bunch of mean, bored, jaded people answering questions in a manner that is totally uncalled for, then they SHOULD be reported, imho.

Well, they are not crybabies for one. And they are reporting violations maybe cuz they are pissed off that some people are violating the rules of Yahoo answers, and just want to report the people. Its not that big of a deal....

I agree with you.
Even though I think most of the pranks here are totally irrelevant and annoying, I choose to ignore them because they do not bother me. Even if somebody did decide to annoy me, I'd just ignore them. What happened to "freedom of speech"?
If somebody wants to be act like an idiot, it is their choice and they should have the right to do so.
I think the people who report "prankers", and "Violators", and obsess over the idea of getting them deleted are in fact MORE immature than the "violators" because it proves that the ones who report them are just pathetic and have nothing better to do than to try to get somebody deleted. If they were reeally so "smart", they'd just ignore the situation. Besides, It's none of their business what other people are doing. If I were to start annoying everybody on this site (not that i would, just an example), I have EVERY right to, no matter what the rules are. Trying to get me punished is just stooping down to my level.

I report when people are sexually offense. I do not consider myself a crybaby. I am sick about people talking about their private parts and being graphic just for shock value. They are the immature ones.

why? B/C who wants to read about men smelling kids bike seats (real question). Ive read some pretty disgusting things. Most of the time I just stop reading but if it contains something illegal I report it. Someone said for people need to get a sense of humor. this is yahoo answers. not yahoo make each other laugh with dumb questions.

I will post a violation if a child (usually you can tell how old they are by their post) is posting something offensive or dangerous.

It's just a childish game for them , for the most part no harm is done , best to not acknowledge them , they thrive on responses .
