I don't believe the flaxseed oil will help try Licorice also try this web site www.askmrvitamin.com I also read that eczema in children could be caused by food allergies. Until you get that licorice are do some more research use lotions like lubrderm and oil of olay and bath your child in water that's not hot in put some oils in the tub that are for softening walmart has some good ones
these are things i used with my girls and there skin looks great now and no more itching

I would like to suggest arbonne. My daughter is six, and we have finally found something that has been helping her.
I use Arbonnes wash, lotion, and body oil her and it seems to be doing wonders. she has had it since she was a baby, and we have tried all the 'perscribed' lotions, and never found relief. I stopped putting the steroids on her, because at the age of three, she was developing leg hair.
Till we found arbonne, she started to leave scars on her legs from the itching. the arbonne body oil has helped reduce the signs of those scars.
let me know if you would like some samples, I can send some to you,
-Angela

I have Eczema, and believe me no matter what the medication it clears up my arms and flares up my legs. Or helps my legs and flares up my arms. Its afwul to have, but they'll get used to it. Some lucky people even have it stop effecting them.

i am a nurse on a dermatology ward, and the best way for a child without using steriod based creams is NOT to wash him/her with soap instead wash with aqueous cream and apply diprobase 3 times a day, which are both available to buy over the counter
