This is a tough one. Most of us have lost someone close to us and the closer, the longer it takes to get over it. I'm going to watch it to see if anyone comes up with a great answer because I've never heard one. The only thing I've heard is to give it time and keep busy. That way you don't have time to think about it. Just try to keep in mind that it will get better. Jumping into another relationship is usually a bad idea, however. Good relationships take time to develop.

how long do you plan to be on this mourning stage? better set a time limit. we mourn the dead for a certain period of time, so why not put certain time limit in feeling like manure and then wake up from it and smelling like roses after. set a realistic time that you can handle, it's all up to you, 1 month, 2 months, 1 year, just put a stop somewhere. i didn't say forget the past, just put a time when will you move on.

Go out with friends, write in a journal, read a good book, rent some funny movies, surf the web for funny jokes, catch up with old friends and family members, start a new hobby or exercise routine.

I'm sorry!
What kind of things would you do before she came along? You just have to move on with your life at full speed. Soon you'll see that the relationship was just another steppingstone in life to make you who you will be one day.

Do things that keep you interested, just keep yourself occupied. Time will be the only healer. Try to do things that won't bring up any memories

Well I love to laugh, and no matter how sad I am laughing instantly makes me happier. Try keeping yourself busy, and don't worry you'll get through it soon.
