I'm looking for a more realistic map of the world. The "normal" map that everyone is used to actually portrays the countries wrong. It was shown on the tv show West Wing....

The West Wing featured the Peters Projection Map. It is available at local book and map stores, or directly from Friendship Press. To order, call toll free 1-800-889-5733.

Look at a globe to see the true way the world is. And note that country borders have changed hugely in the last 75 years. Less than 30 years ago 17 new countries were defined in the eastern edge of Europe.

The ONLY way to do it accurately is on a globe. You can't portray a sphere on a flat surface and do it right.

But there are many attempts to do it. Here are some sites:

Again, a good globe is inexpensive, and the best way to visualize everything.
