Try what Todd says about turning the computer and cable off.
Then when you get back in run all of your anti-virus software. Then run your cleanup Utility. Then get Lavasoft's free version of Ad-Aware SE Personal from the lavasoft site run the Ad-aware anytime you get slowdown it's really great at cleaning up adware and cookies and even some virus's

It's not the interent connectivity. It is something on your pc that is conflicting with an application or something you are accessing via the internet and probably causing your pc to reboot or hang. It could also be some virus or spyware misbehaving.

After restart. Don't opne the browser. and try these steps(helps to isolate the issue)

1. Start >> run. Type cmd
2. type, ping yahoo.com
look the results, it should be atleast 75% success.

if you get any error message, then try this in the command window.

ping 216.109.112.135

If the ping command works fine, then you need to run virus scan and reinstall the browser.
else reinstall the OS.

Restart your cable modem and/or router. Unplug it completely, meaning every cable out of the back. Wait 30 seconds replug everything back in. Restart your computer. Should fix the anomalies.
