I have a coworked who has it in for me.. Luckily we have the same boss, and the boss and I are more like best friends then boss and employee... The guy goes to our boss all the time telling him things that thankfully my boss knows is a lie. How do you finally get it through to this dude that enough is enough?

My boss knows.. I found out yesterday and huge big thing how he was calling me a F'ing liar cause my boss lets me work from home on Saturdays. Yet my boss has proof that I do.. My boss and I have a good laugh daily about this.. But it gets to the point where its just becoming harassment.

he may be digging his own grave... so long as your boss knows what's right i wouldn't worry about it.

First of all, it's really good that your boss knows. Don't respond, don't even give the behavior any attention. Keep doing your work and continue with your everyday activities like normal. This person's actions will take them down, and you don't want it to take you down, too. It's good that you have that relationship with your boss-so many people change jobs because of not having that! That is a HUGE plus in your current situation.

That's what you have a boss for. Do NOT stoop to the co-workers' level. Keep a record of what you do each day to give to the boss so that the boss knows what you're actually up to.

Sounds like high school.

Work is just that--work.

If your co-worker is gossiping then you need to have a meeting with that person and your boss to make it stop.

OR

you could transfer out of the department or find a better job or get that person fired or transferred out of your dept. for harrasment.

It's better to save the most extreme measures as a last resort.

Is it worth your time and energy ?

If your boss knows its a lie, it is his responsibility to talk to the other employee and tell him to stop making stuff up. Filing false complaints against other employees is, in many cases, a very good reason to fire someone.

Sometimes the more you respond, the worse you look. You are lucky your boss is aware of it.

Give the co-worker enough rope. He will hang himself!
