age old question re: age old profession?

I've seen it asked here many times before but never gave much thought to answering.

Why do men see prostitutes?

Or

Why do women prostitute themselves?

Having given some thought allow me to indulge myself:

There is a certain honesty that exists between the involved parties. The woman is only interested in and wants the money.....and the man is only interested in and wants the sex. When the transaction is complete everyone goes home.

Many relationships have gone to the altar under the same premise, however the lack of honesty in the relationship caused a failure in the marriage.

Now before you gal's start in on me I ask that you go back and read what I've said. It does in no way mean all marriages. I simply feel that if you read what I say you will agree that it is an honest assessment to the question.

What is your answer to the question?

I placed this question in other categorys as well just to see the differance in participation and the general response attitude. Thanks for participating in our lunch time debate all of your views have valid points and are well taken.

Women will "sell themselves" for two reasons:
1) They need money (i.e. drug habit, alcohol habit etc....food)
2) They have no other means of obtaining a significant amount of cash (i.e. they could clean a house for $5.00/hr and not make enough to eat regular or they can turn a trick a day, 30 minutes max, and make enough to live for the day and maybe position themselves for another living).

Whatever the reason prositution is an age old profession because of it's demand. Why do men???? Who knows, maybe it's that segment of society that can''t get laid by a good looking babe, or maybe an older guy wanting to "walk down the memory lane of his youth". I think that the reasons are dependent upon the person and his particular desires.

Yes many relationships are forms of prostitution. Donald Trump comes to mind. Now Don's not a bad looking guy...but do you really think if he had no $$$ would he have landed such a hot babe unit? Given that anything is possible we have to concern ourselves with the probable. Possible yes...probable ...no. It is my belief that it's the cash that has made this match. And I further think that Don is very aware of the aphrodisiac powers that his green stuff has on women. I don't think it helps the marriage if the woman reveils her true agenda to her mark. It would ruin the moment of the honeymoon and such episodes thereafter. Suffice to say this agenda is implied by both parties. The failure of such a union is expected once the allure of the $$$ is spent (No pun intended)..

One thought though. Are we not ALL prostitutes in some form or another? From the laborer and the office worker to the guy who spends cash to take out the girl fully realizing that if he doesn't show her a good time his chances of getting laid are coommensurate to a priest's (Then again maybe less than a priest) I can say this becasue I'm Catholic.

Well,some of us would still like to think, he may actually love us.
Otherwise wouldn`t it just make good sense that we would all be prostitutes for the money and not need to deal with the bull**** that comes with a relationship?

I think that prostitution should be a legal profession, with rules and laws that apply to it, for the safety of the men and women that are participating. And please don;t forget that men prostitute themselves as well.

I agree with what you say, it still disgusts me that women do such a thing, and men are dumb enough to allow it.. Once again it shows which head a guy can only seem to think with..

dunno why either parts take in it. i mean, you see really HOT guys going for prostitutes, maybe its inadequacy(lol) or just wanting to fell like o ya i banged so many chiks. as or the women. i dunno. we cant lie to ourselves and say they are all forced into it. others go in with their eyes wide open. that and other things too lol. i suppose its a money thing. maybe also, to start of with, the idea of doing something "naughty" turns them on? I've wondered why prostitution happens and like you say, it boils down to he wants sex, she wants money. so they trade. i guess.
