There is nothing wrong with wanting material wealth, but that's not all there is in life. If it becomes an obsession or if it betrays the person's growth as a well-rounded individual in all areas then it can be damaging. As in all things, in moderation!

It's natural and good to want more. It is ingrained in the human spirit to work for a comfort level beyond substinance, to seek property and power for himself and his family and community.

Social and political systems that don't recongise and encourage this basic human motivation crush the human spirit and end up being oppressive. Re: Communism, Socialism and perpetual welfare systems.

I have known many a millionaire. I will be one myself in a few years, thanks to an upbringing focused on education and acheivement and a well cared for trust fund. Lucky me!

Thank the Lord I also have the wisdom to recognize that there is nothing about money or wealth that can make me truly happy. I do not care one bit about status or if the person next to me at a stoplight or in a restaurant is impressed with what I have. It's great to have a very expensive car and nice house, don't get me wrong, but I know I can have just as satisfying a life in the 'burbs and driving a Camry. Or less.

I have known a few happy millionaires and I've also many more who are decidedly unhappy people. Materialism and obsession with wealth are as bad as a drug addiction. They sap the spirit and drain a persons capability for love and friendship also their ethics, morals and posibility for a truly "rich" life. The humble man that dies loved and respected by family and friends and neighbors is far richer than Bill Gates. He knows this too, by the way!

Make millions, but do not forget to spend just as much time developing yourself as a person. Family, love, true friendship, helping your community and giving back, enjoying and supporting the arts and education and growing your spirtual self are all pieces of the puzzle for a complete life.

it's not wrong to want it, but i've known quite a few young millionaires and have seen some of the hardships money can cause when you're not ready to know how to handle it without letting it change who you are... also, while it's natural for us all to want money, remember that "success" is about happiness / whatever makes you feel better, oftentimes it turns out that money can't do this for you... i've worked in non-profit and helped children and families and found it more rewarding then when i was making a lot of money.... just think about what would really make you happy - money can't do it, but sometimes what you might do with the money is what you really want and you might be able to get there without being a "teenage millionaire" :) good luck!

It could be, I think money isn't worth what people believe. I'm still a firm believer that money can't make you happy, but I guess it will get you enough junk so you can feel happy.

it's only wrong if you're not willing to work hard to obtain it, then pay the taxes on it and be responsible with it. if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
