I am very concerned about the state of the economy...and the impact on working people everywhere. I am witnessing a growing disparity between the "have" and the "have-nots". How is it the cost of living can go through the roof; but salaries remain stagnant? When you get a tiny cracker box of an apartment for over a thousand dollars a month, need a roommate to make ends meet, and your salary just doesn't cut it? What is this all about? "Getting out of debt" has become a multi-billion dollar business...making the rich, richer and the poor, poorer. Something is upside-down with this picture. Prices go up, up, up...and employers become more and more demanding...and then don't want to pay us for it. Insurance rates are through the roof...and then they don't want to do the pay-out. I wish someone would stop the insanity...this is nuts!

I personally think we need a total revamp of the Government. politics have become nothing more than sales speaches to see who can "convince" you they are the one you need. Not that they will do anything for you once they are in office. They do whatever makes their close friends happier and say it is for the good of the entire country.
Large corporations have lobbtists they pay a high wage to for convincing the government to favor their plan. For instance Walmart is currently spending Millions to fight the possible Minimum wage increase! Millions that could in fact have went into the pockets of thier under-payed and under insured employees!! and they wonder why the economy is going to pot! They need to stop protecting the wealth of the few rich people and help the other 90% of the country get better pay. that would spread the wealth around and increase spending.
Give a few million extra to one guy and what is HE (one person)going to buy with it? But spread that same few million out amongst thousands of lower employees and see where all the money is spread out to. There are some who think they are tying to rid America of the "middle class" So we will go back to what our forfathers came here to escape from. The wealthy will have all the perks and make all the rules while the poor do all the work for them. Scary when you think how close we are to this.
Why do you think there is such a rise in overpaid executives? They want to ensure their place at the top of the food chain and will crush anyone they need to in order to acheive it. The government officials will not put a stop to it because they are up there with them.

Most important issue to me is the impending crunch coming from the Boomers retiring and the entitlement systems being unable to keep up with them.
But, mention privitization, and every Democrat starts screaming about taking money out of old people's hands such that they'll be living on dog food.

Luxury taxes, Capital gains, Tax shelters, all estate planing issues.
As a wealthy man, why should I have to pay proportionately more taxes than poor people?

The economy is the single most important issue facing the US today, and it is overrated by false hope, and under-reported as to its weaknesses.
