Hysterectomy is the removal of the uterus. Salpingo-oopherectomy is the removal of the ovary and fallopian tubes. Often times just the uterus is removed, leaving the ovaries to prevent menopausal symptoms(unless significant cancer is present) Total Hysterectomy refers to the combination of both procedures above.

A hysterectomy is an operation to remove a woman's uterus (womb). In some cases, the ovaries and fallopian tubes also are removed.

That's when you have you Hyster Ectomied. It's very painful, causing many women to develop chronic bloody noses and often growing a third arm. Women who already have three arms often develop a beautiful singing voice and go on to American Idol. See www.3armedamericanidol.com for all the details.

That is where they remove the uterus and sometimes your ovaries. I had it done and have never regretted it.
If they take your ovaries, you will need hormone medication. If they leave 1 of them you're better off.

Isn't that when women get their entire productive system removed? They do it for many reasons, they may have cancer or they may do this to protect them from having any more children.
