Make a conscious decision not to be so introverted and shy. I moved around alot when i was in school. I was forced to constantly be mixing with a new group of people. It just takes some courage on your part. Courage isn't something that comes naturally...you just have to make a conscious decision to overcome your fear. If someone doesn't like you that is their problem. Be polite, look people in the eyes when you talk to them and be sincere. Those are all qualities that everyone respects. Another thing to remember is to be who you are...don't let anyone tell you that it's not good enough. You say you have a learning disorder...don't let anyone tell you that...if you are ADHD or people tell you that you are slow...use that to prove them wrong...you have the ability...you just may have to work harder than the rest of us.

If you have some talents and interests, and I'm sure you do, try to share those with other people. Common interest causes people to mix well even when their personalities are different. I'm also introverted and I used to be shy, but I got over my social fears when I realized that there's usually nothing to be afraid of and spoke up more to find that people thought I was very articulate and smart. And I have found that quiet people often have very active minds which no one will think is boring once they get to you know. Everyone is worth being heard and remembered.
